Naked Babies

Both of the girls love bath time as well as being naked (it's cute but a bit scary at the same time). Here is Ellie showing off her cute self!

Here is Lola in all of her glory... we love Lola!

First night on their own!

So we did it, we let them sleep in their room last night. It was very hard for me to fall asleep but when I did, I only got woken up just once when Lola needed her pacifier. At 3:30am Lola cried a bit I went in and gave her the pacifier and she slept until 7:15am. Ellie on the other hand slept from 9:30pm to 7:30am in the crib without a peep, I think she's starting to take after her mom. It's hard to admit that our girls are growing up and ready to be on their own at night but at least Tony and I are getting more sleep as a result! Check out the picture, this is how I found the girls this morning even though when I put them into bed they were side by side and Lola was in the positioner (I guess they are movers when they sleep).

Do I dare say in fear of jinxing it, that the girls both have officially slept through the night for a week straight. Tony and I were not convinced it was a sure thing until today. We realized that at three months the girls really are more content and it seems that they actually like bed time. They settle into their cradle after their 10:30 meal, most of the time they are still awake when I lay them down and together they fall asleep from 10:30pm to 7:00am-ish sometimes they will last until 8:00ish. I think we are very lucky with their sleeping habits, let's just hope it continues this way! You never realize how sleep deprivation can affect you until it happens, I am a new women now that I have had a complete week of restful nights! The girls are reacting quite well to their restful nights too, they are full of smiles and laughter during morning playtime.

Tony and I have been reluctant to move them from the cradle in our room to their crib in the nursery at night, but I think it is time. They are barely fitting in the cradle as it is...look

Gosh how perfect they fit in the cradle just three months ago!

I think they will sleep better in their own crib. Tonight might be the night.

I will keep you posted.

Go Padres! The girls are 1 and 0

On Sunday the girls got to go to their very first Padres baseball game. Tony said it made him feel like such a dad, taking his girls to the ballgame. We picked the perfect day to take them, the sun was out but the breese kept us all cool enough. Though they slept through most of the game they still were excited when the Padres won with a score of 7 to 2.

Tony and Ellie
Do you like the pink Padres jerseys the girls are sporting? Auntie Sarah and Josh came to SD for a suprise visit
and loved the game just as much as the girls.
We topped off the day with a bit of chocolate ice cream served in a Padres batting hat, Tony can't wait unitl the girls are old enough for some ice cream.

Three months old already!

The girls turned three months old yesterday on their Uncle Mark's birthday. They had a good day. They spent the morning playing and then went to a BBQ for their Uncle Mark. They got to meet a bunch on new people and were spoiled like crazy!

Playtime with Ellie

Ellie loved her Bumbo seat today, she was all smiles. She was able to stay in it a while, holding her head up the whole time. What a big girl!

Playtime with Lola

Lola got to try out her bouncy chair, her legs couldn't even touch the ground :) I guess it's still a bit early, but I think she had fun anyway!

First Mother's Day!

I simply cannot believe I am a mom of two little girls. I had a very nice day yesterday. In the afternoon we went to brunch at the Town and Country, it was so perfect, the girls were angles during lunch and the sun came out just in time for us to enjoy the patio. We also were able to walk around and show the girls where their parents got married. After brunch we went to "Emma" house and I was able to take a much needed Mother's day nap. The we all enjoyed a nice dinner.
I hope all of you mom's had a nice Mother's day too!

Unexpected Visit!

The swine flu had a nice effect on us!

Half of my family was on a cruise to Mexico last week. Due to the swine flu their cruise was re-routed and they ended up with a new cruise route which we refered to as the Southern California Riviera cruise.... Therefore the cruise ship took port in San Diego for one day.
Fortunately for the girls, this enabled them to see their Great Grandparents, their great uncle aka "Gunkle" and their cousins for the first time and they got to see their Great Aunt aka "Grantie" for the second time.

This weekend with Grandma and Poppi

My parents came for a visit this weekend to see the girls and Aiden. They had not seen the girls since a few weeks after they were born. Man, how much have they changed since then!
Poppi still has the magic touch!

The girls love hanging out outside. I think they love the fresh air and all the new sounds. It is so sweet to see them react to all the new things in their envirnment. They sure did get a lot of attention at the park this day.

Beautiful Ellie!

Grandma Mar is having the time of her life!

2 month ckeck up!

The girls had their two month check up yesterday... it was good and bad at the same time. Both girls are doing great and growing strong.

Lola Grace weighs 10lbs 14oz and is 22inches long.
Ellie Francesca weighs 8lbs 13 oz and is 21.5 inches long.

The bad part of the appointment was that they had to get five shots... They both screamed when they were given the shots and were pretty needed the rest of the night, but we didn't mind -all they wanted to do was cuddle. They must have been so wiped out from the shots because they both slept through the night last night 10:30 pm to 6:30am woo-hoo, mom and dad got some much needed sleep!
