Getting Bigger!

We had to take the girls into the doctors the other day because they had a little cold. They are doing okay no infection or anything. But we did get to weigh them...
Lola now weighs 14lbs
Ellie now weighs 11lbs
I can't believe that Lola weighs 3 pound more pounds than Ellie but you can sure feel the difference when you hold each of them.
I'll post some new pics soon.

Tony's First Father's Day!

Tony's girls got all dresses up for Father's day!
When I asked Tony what he wanted to do on Father's day he said he just wanted to relax, so we spent the afternoon at Tony's Mom's (Emma) house just relaxing in the sun, watching the US Open and the Padres, and Barbecuing ribs. And in the evening we just kicked back and watched a movie. I think Tony enjoyed his first Father's day!
What a handsome dad!
The girls love their dad's lap!

Four Months Old

I think Ellie must have told Lola something funny, what do you think? They are probably making fun of how silly I look when I try to make them smile.

Well at least my funny faces worked and I got them both to smile!

What a nice sister, Ellie must be protecting Lola from something a bit smelly (mom might have diaper duty after this shot).

Precious sisters at four months.

So cute... that's all I can say!

Out and about...

The San Diego days have been way too nice to stay inside... so we headed out for walk around the neighborhood. The girls loved it. They liked being up and out of the stroller to look around and see all the sights. They sure did get a lot of attention from the neighbors this day!
It took us a while to figure out how the baby Bjorn worked (poor Ellie) but after some trial and error we figured it out.
Ellie looks a bit more comfortable and so cute next to daddy!
Mom and Lola loving the sunshine!

...Well we tried to get a family shot...

Precious gift...

Auntie Missi stopped by yesterday, she said she had something to give us. What a surprise! She had taken one of our favorite pictures and had it printed onto canvas. It is so beautiful and when I look at it, it makes me want to cry because I reflect on how much have they have grown since then. Now we just have to find the perfect place to hang it!

The Canvas

Thanks Auntie Missi for taking such a sweet picture and also for the canvas, it's so beautiful!

Lots of playtime fun!

Lola and Ellie love their funky monkey jumper... Anytime they are fussy we put them in it and they immediately stop fussing and start smiling. They can't even touch the ground yet and still they love it, mom and dad love it too.

Lola loves to play airplane with mommy. She is all smiles and laughs when I have her flying on my knees. It is so much fun to play with her, that smile makes it all worth it!

The other day it was really nice outside, so the girls kept me company as I cleaned off the deck and tended to the plants. We spent almost an hour outside together. The girls are so peaceful when they are outside, I think they really enjoy the new sounds and sights.

After all of that playing the girls have to get their beauty sleep too. Here is Ellie in her new sleeping position. For the past week every time I go in to check on Ellie during her naps or to wake her up in the morning, she is sleeping on her left side all curled up (it's so cute). She is becoming a very predictable baby.

Just hanging out!

The girls are getting to be so active. Both are laughing now and just stealing our hearts. Ellie rolled over from her back to her stomach for the first time the other day and Lola will not stop scooting, we always have to keep an eye on her. Here are some photos of us just hanging with our girls.

Sometimes Ellie needs something more exciting than the Padres to keep her awake.
What a comfortable spot... the girls love sleeping on Daddy!

Uncle Mania!

The girls are so lucky to have such great support and love from their entire family. They don't know yet what they were born into and what they will have to put up with :) but I think they are loving all the attention they are getting from their Uncles so far!
This post features the girls and their Uncles.

Here is Uncle Drew aka Uncle Dread helping Lola with her favorite passtime (eating). Uncle Drew has nicknamed Lola "Crusher" because she simply crushes her bottle each and every feeding. Thanks Uncle Drew for all the good meals!

Since Lola Crushes her bottle each and every feeding, she needs lots and lots of burps. Uncle Mark is very good at burping (one of many talents). He actually taught us how to burp the girls when they were first born.

One of Uncle Mark's other talents is putting together furniture. Here he is helping set up the second crib, the girls will be so happy now they can sleep peacefully without the other one rolling on top of the other. Thanks Uncle Mark for your handy work!

Uncle Matt loves to make the girls laugh! Ellie and Lola both were full of smiles when their Uncle Matt would make funny faces.

Uncle Matt is also good at cuddling. Ellie likes nothing more than to be held and what better job for an uncle than to simple hold his little niece. Thank Uncle Matt for all the smiles and attention.

Ellie is good at putting her Uncle Shaun to sleep and she seems to be happy about that, just look at her smile.
But Uncle Shaun is the master cuddler and had the magic touch he put Ellie right to Sleep! What a great uncle, thanks Uncle Shaun for all the cuddles!

...back to work :(

Today was a big day for the girls and a hard day for their mom. I went back to work today and had to drop the girls off at day care. I did not expect it to hit me as hard as it did. I woke up at 5:45 am to get myself ready, woke Lola at 6:15 to feed her and get her ready, and then I woke up Ellie at 6:40 to feed her and get her ready. We left the house around 7:15 and headed out to Point Loma where their baby sitter lives. I dropped them off and was doing okay until I got into the car and heard "Singles Ladies" by Beyonce, that's when I broke down. I know it sounds crazy, but I sang that song to the girls all the time when I was pregnant. Fortunately my first two days back to work are only half days, it gives us all time to adjust.
