We took the girls to the doctor today for their checkup... They both got a clean bill of health and doc says they are right on track!
Lola Grace weighs 18lbs and is 27 inches long
Ellie Francesca weighs 14lbs 2oz and is 25 inches long
They each received three shots today so they have been very mellow tonight. It hurts my heart when they scream during the shot,s but they are really good about them and are comforted easily.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

So this picture popped up on my screen saver and I couldn't help but reflect on it and share it will all of you.
We should have know what personalities these girls would have... Look at Ellie and Lola at only three weeks old. Ellie is the much inquisitive one who does not like to sleep because she is afraid she will miss something very important and Lola is the cuddle bug who is chillin through life, enjoying the baby stage because she gets to sleep as much as she wants.

Playdate times four

Yes, that is FOUR babies you see in our living room. Last weekend the girls went to the zoo with thier friends Bailey and Brady. Man was Brady a lucky guy, he had three girls all to himself! After the zoo we all hung out at the house and had fun!

Guess who Guess what???

You guessed it, Ellie has a tooth popping through. She was chewing on my finger this morning and all of a sudden I felt something on her bottom gums. Tony and I couldn't believe how excited we were (I know kind of cheesy). You probably can't quite make it out in the picture but I tried.

Cutie Pies...

Well we finally had one foggy, chilly morning last Sunday, so the girls took this opportunity to wear their handmade bonnets from my aunt (their great aunt aka "Grantie" ) to church.

Thanks "Grantie" for such cute bonnets!

the girl's new tricks

Lola and Ellie have mastered the art of feeding themselves a cracker.

and Ellie can pull herself up to a standing position... we must keep our eye on her now. Any tips on how to keep a determined little girl contained??

New Toys!!!

We have been very blessed by good friends who spend time on Craig's list finding these gently used toys for our girls to enjoy. Lola and Ellie were very spoiled this past week. They got a new jumper- so now they can jump together. It is so fun to watch them jump at the same time, they feed off each other's energy. They also got this laugh and learn play house. It has been so fun to watch them explore all the new gadgets and sounds, they are becoming so independent in their play.

Even though they have all these new fancy toys, Lola and Ellie still like to be creative together and play with parts of objects.

Seven Months Old

Today the girls turned seven months old. I think I am in a bit of denial, I was holding on to the six month stage until the very last moment. I just feel that seven months is such a mile stone. More than a half of year has gone by and oh how fast has it passed. But each new month brings more joy. Ellie is a full on crawler now, she has found her way onto our deck and into our kitchen- we really have to watch her now and Lola can sit up all on her own. They both are experimenting with new sounds and Ellie actually said "Dada" the other day!
Below are some candid shots of the girls at seven months. They might be out growing this spot, but they were sure having fun during the photo session.

Monday Night Chargers!!!

What a game... The girls and Mom were very happy that the Chargers were able to snake a win over those Raiders. Dad will have a much better week.
Family of Charger Fans!

The girls didn't quite make it to the 7:15pm start time of the Monday night Charger's game.

But Daddy and his little Charger cheerleaders were all smiles before the game!

College Football Season!!!

This is by far Tony's very favorite time of the year... The weather is still warm and football is on nearly everyday of the week. This Saturday was all about college ball. It started with college gameday in the morning and ended with a victory for USC over Ohio State. So naturally the girls had to dress up in their college cheerleading outfits. Why LSU you may ask, since mom's Alma mater is San Diego State University and Dad's Alma mater is The University of San Diego? Well Tony's got some kin down in the bayou and they are devout LSU tigers fans- they got the girls these outfits when they were first born and finally Lola and Ellie got to sport these cute digs.
The outfits were good luck LSU won!

6 Month photo shoot with Auntie Missi!

Here are just a few shots from the girl's six month photo shoot. Thanks Missi.. they turned out beautiful. Check out Missi's blog to see the rest of our photos as well as all the other great work she does!

I think this is one of the first family shots we have where everyone is looking... Melissa was working very hard behind the camera with her sound effects to get both the girls looking!

Labor Day Fun!

This weekend we tried to relax and have fun. My parents came down and all of us had fun swimming at the pool, watching football, bbq-ing, and just hanging out!

Poppi helping Aiden and the girls on their way to the pool! They love their wagon and cousin Aiden does too.

We're working on teaching Lola how to sit up on her own... she's got it down for about 30 seconds.

Swim time fun! Mark and Aiden

Lola, Grandma Mar, and Mommy

Swimming wore Ellie out... she fell right asleep on Daddy!

Unforgetable day!

Today is unforgettable for many reasons…

reason 1 Our baby girls are six and a half months old and this is the first day Tony and I had to buy a pack of diapers. How is that possible you may ask? You see I had two baby showers, one in my hometown and one in San Diego, our friends and family were so generous and unknowingly supplied us with a six and half month supply of diapers. We still have yet to buy a pack of wipes.. I will let you know when that day comes.

reason 2 Today my alarm went off at 5:30am and I got up with ease before the first snooze even rang, this behavior is definitely out of character for me. But since I am back to work and have to be there by 7:30am, I am motivated to wake up early enough to get some playtime in with my girls before I have to leave.

reason 3 I rode a roller coaster of emotions today, I experienced a myriad of feelings I have never felt before becoming a mom... feelings of deep sadness and guilt when I leave the girls in the morning for work, feelings of gratefulness to have meaningful work, feelings of disbelief that these perfect beings are ours, and an overwhelming feeling of contentment.

Uncle Mark and Auntie Missi went to Hawaii and brought back these super cute dresses for the girls , They might just have to go to the beach in them this weekend!

Jumparoo Fun!

This week is my first week back to work, so my posts might be few and far between for the next couple of weeks, but I'll do my best. I have to, because as most of you know I do not have much free time to scrapbook these days and this blog is working as my interim scrapbook.

I finally figured out why the videos weren't loading... I guess they were just too long. Here are some short videos of the girls enjoying the Monkey jumperoo!
