Happy Thanksgiving!

One of my all time favorite things to do on Thanksgiving is stay in my pjs and watch the Macy's Day Parade. This year was the best yet, I got to watch the parade while my baby girls fell asleep in my lap. I am so thankful for mornings like this!
Yes, I made Tony watch the parade with me instead of morning football, but he did get to watch football the rest of the day!
We headed off to "Emma's" for Turkey and Fun! The girls played all day regardless of being all dressed up! They take a bit after their mom. We are so Thankful for our happy, healthy girls!
The girls had their first Thanksgiving dinner , which included turkey, sweet potatoes, and mash potatoes. They even got to have baby peach cobbler for desert!
No "kids" table here, Lola and Ellie got to sit at the grown up table.
They loved it!
We are so thankful for family, friends, and time spent together.
Ellie looks like she enjoyed her first Thanksgiving, she now just wants to get out and play some more. She ended up staying awake until 8:30- 2 hours past her bed time.
Lola looks like she ate a bit too much on her first Thanksgiving and just wanted out of her highchair and straight to bed!

All aboard the baby train!

Simple Pleasures!

Who needs store bought toys when you have an empty laundry basket? Believe it or not they did this all on their own. Lola crawled in, then Ellie tried to crawl in and couldn't so she just pushed her big sister around for a while. What a team player!

My friend Anida and I try to meet for a shopping date every year on our Thanksgiving break. Anida is a teacher too, we went to high school together, and San Diego State together. She lives in thousand oaks now, so we meet half way at South Coast Plaza. It is always a fun day. This time it was a bit more hectic... as you can image. Our pack has grown by three. We were definitely proud of ourselves at the end of the day, bringing two infants and a toddler to the mall on a Saturday after an hour and a half drive for each of us is an accomplishment, and all three of them did great. (With a little mishap at lunch) We thought it would be so fun to go to lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe' with all the fish tanks and animals. The place is very loud which was good for us, we didn't have to worry about the kiddos making too much noise. But the noise and fake storms ended up scaring the kids...lesson learned.
Ellie, Lola, and Kaiden
It was starting to look a lot like Christmas, and it was great.
Kaiden loved the lights and the girls just loved shopping.
So this was the girls first attempt at eating in highchairs at a restaurant. I know that sounds crazy, they are nine months and have never been in a restaurant highchair, but I'm sure you can imagine what a task it must be. I will have to say the girls did great!

9 months old

That is Tony's favorite saying for this month anyway. I know I say it every month, but I mean it this time, I simply cannot believe my baby girls are 3 quarters of a year old. Both Tony and I walked at nine months, so I expect my world to get turned upside down in a matter of weeks.
I will keep you posted.
My famous photo spot in not working out so well these days. I just could not get them to sit still for one shot together yesterday on their nine-month birthday... This is as good as it got!
(Note: the girls were on their way to a bath when I remembered to take their pictures)

Maybe next time I should put them in these baskets they were so desperately trying to get into then out of.

Fall Fun!

Who says Southern California doesn't have seasons... it looks a bit like fall to me!

The girls had a blast playing in the leaves... we were on a walk around the neighborhood and I just couldn't resist the photo opt... and it turned out to be a fun stop for the girls, we played in the leaves for almost an hour.

Ellie all smiles

Lola loving the leaves!

Ellie must investigate all things, including leaves!

No investigating here, just playing

Who is this, I don't recognize this baby?
It's Ellie giving mom a funny face and showing off her teeth!
Sundays are great!

Sister Sister

One of the coolest things about having twins is watching them interact with each other and play together. Lola and Ellie have literally only been apart twice in their entire life, for about an hour each time. You can tell that they depend on each other for affection and interaction. It is so sweet to see them play together and discover one another.
It was not until this picture was taken (2 days ago) that the girls took a bath together. I was very afraid to bath two infants at the same time, but they are so connected that when I would give one a bath the other one would cry and crawl around the house until finding us in the bathroom. Ellie would sit right next to me and talk to Lola during her bath. So I decided that it was time to get a second bath seat and let them have fun in the tub as sisters.

Since Ellie is the more efficient crawler, Lola has taken to playing follow the leader. Where Ellie goes so goes Lola. Here they are playing kitchen together and then in the video they are making music together.

Beautiful day!

What an unexpected perfectly beautiful day!
Today was Veteran's day, a day to remember and honor all the men and women who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom we enjoy each and evey day! In remembrance, public schools were closed, therefore no work for mom. After running some errands with the girls, we stopped off at the park for an impromptu little picnic. The weather was perfect... (like my big bro always says "Let me guess, Sunny and 70") Yep, on November 11th in San Diego, we were hanging out at the bay in tee-shirts. The girls loved looking that the seagulls, listening to the other kids play, and just chillin in the sunshine!
Sweet Lola
The famous self snapped shot that is always just a tick off!

The girls had a blast playing peek-a-boo with my hat.
