Saturday Eggs!

This has become an accidental tradition. Saturdays just happens to be the day I have the most time in the mornings, therefore I take time and make the girls a hot breakfast. After drinking their milk and of course catching Elmo on Sesame Street, we head into the kitchen. If I even mention the word eggs, both the girls come running into the kitchen and say "help you mommy, help you." They are getting pretty good at if I do say so myself, their eggs are yummy!
It doesn't get too much better than lazy Saturday mornings, soon enough the girls will be on their own and making me and Tony breakfast in the morning!

Yummy!

New and Fun Happenings

The girls have a new element in their room "The Learning Poster"
We started "school time" with the girls this week. Each week the poster will have a new letter, number, shape/color, theme, vocabulary word/s, and songs. All these concepts will be reinforced throughout the week in everyday/normal setting. They actually love school time. When we say "school time," they run over and pull the cards out of the sleeves and practice their new skills!

Here is Ellie during "School Time"

Nothing better than sissy kisses through the screen door! This cracked them up, they were giggling like crazy! The girls have taken on the "Rock and Read" tradition all on their own, they are growing up and mom doesn't fit too well in the rocking chair when they are both in it!

Painting on the Patio, our budding artists! Look at those master pieces! (okay I helped with the Elmo look alike)

... everyday is a new adventure with these little toddlers...100% on the go...

easy solution

The girls have settled in their toddler beds nicely.... together. Since about the third day with the new beds the girls WILL NOT sleep in separate beds, not even for their naps...

These little toddler beds weren't really made for two...poor Lola...
we had to com up with a solution.
This was our solution and the girls dug it...it's a win-win. They get to sleep together, but in areally big bed, we probably should have just got one twin bed :)

Simple Saturday

The other day I dropped a friend off at the San Diego Trolley station. When we left Ellie started crying. I asked Ellie why she was crying and she said, "Mommy, I wanna ride choo choo." So we decided to take the girls on an outing. We boarded the San Diego Trolley at the Hazard Center Station and headed to San Diego State University, Mom's Alma mater!
The girls were SO excited to ride the 'Choo Choo'
Just look at the smile!
Ellie was pointing out all the sites and kept saying "stay-on" when the trolley would stop.

They waved "Bye, Bye" to the Trolley
SDSU
I have always enjoyed SDSU's campus, I think it is so beautiful.
It was so nice to casually walk around the campus and just let the girls explore!

We sat by the pond, for a pic-nic, it was a beautiful day!

Back on the Trolley again, for another exciting ride...home this time!
The simplest of outings was so much fun for these little girls.
It was a peaceful, relaxing day... a great way to start the long weekend!

Yo Gabba Gabba Fortress

The girls got this tent from their cousins, Athena and Haven, for Christmas. It has been a huge hit. They turn into giggle monsters when they play in the tent. At first whenever I set up the tent, I got about a half hour of free time because they were having so much with their new toy. Now Lola will hunt me down and pull my legs saying "in there, come on, in there." Let's just say I end up spending a lot of time in the tent. All the while daddy pretends to get us by saying "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" and rushing at the tent. It is so cute, Ellie will get into the tent and scream, "Daddy, fee-fi-from" wanting daddy to pretend to get her.

Child Prodigy "in the making"

Lola loves her new magnetic doodle board she got for Christmas... she is a visionary... just look at her abstract rendition of a bird eating some seed! Please tell me you can see it too and it's not just my mom eyes seeing what I want to see ;)

Toddler Bed Update!

The transition is going, for the most part, smooth. Naps are a bit more difficult than night times, but overall the girls have adjusted to their new beds very well!
Tonight when we were tucking the girls into bed, they both walked to Ellie's bed and settled in... I asked Lola to get into her bed and she just looked at me then hugged her sissy. So I simply kissed them both good night and left the room. About 20 minutes later I went into check on them and this is what I found.
Too Cute!

2010 in Review

What a great year!
Here are some Highlights month by month!
January
February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September
October
November
December
Looking back at the girls month by month, I can see how they have changed. In just one year, they went from being babies to being toddlers. It is amazing how fast they change but how great it is to watch them grow, learn, and become their individual selves.
Cheers to a whole new year full of more fun!
