Hide-and-Seek

Daddy and his girls playing hide-and-seek, it doesn't get too much cuter than this. You have to turn up your computer speakers when you watch this video, because the way they count is classic!

p.s. please don't judge, it was laundry day at my house...hence the state of our living room.

Daddy's Birthday

On the 24th it was Tony's birthday. "It's My Daddy's Birthday" the girls kept saying. Since the movie Cars 2 came out on Tony's birthday and the girls absolutely love Cars 1, Tony thought it would be super fun to take the girls to their first Big Screen showing. Of course we had to hype it up.... The girls had to bring their Lightning McQueen and Finn McMissile plush toys with them to the movie. The whole experience was super fun...but I will say I was a bit disappointed in the sequel. The actual content of the movie did not matter to our little ones, they just wanted to see their favorite characters on the big screen and of course eat some movie popcorn.

Getting ready to go in!

Lola is smiling with such anticipation... the video below is priceless!

Ellie LOVED the popcorn and did not even wait to get back to seat before chowing down!

...the girls lasted through ALL the previews, the short film before, and about 40min of the movie before they were done. Ellie kept saying "Mom, I want to leave this movie!" Lola just kept getting up and playing with her Finn toy.

After the Movie we came home to help Daddy Celebrate his birthday with Dinner, cake, and of course presents!

Sara's sister Emily and her niece Claire joined us in the celebration!
The girls eating the yummy cake!

....it a hard picture to make out but Ellie is getting some tickle torture from her Uncle Mark, too fun!

Happy Birthday Tony...All three of your girls love you so much!

choo, choo... All Aboard!

The girls are finally back to themselves... so we decided to make their day and take them on the trolley! They were SOOOO excited, they kept saying "Choo, Choo, All Aboard" all day. Ellie was so excited she couldn't even nap. Here they are anxiously waiting....

They got their tickets and are ready to go!
Pure Glee!

The stations were filled with excitement and the girls we so curious!

We took them to dinner downtown after our trolley ride, look at this big girl catching up on her reading.

Lola is just waiting patiently for her food.

So Tony has the girls convinced that Mr. Waternoose from the movie Monsters Inc. lives in the gutters, every time the girls see a grate in the street they must stop to check and see if he is there. They yell down the whole "Mr. Waternoose" Downtown San Diego has quite a few of these grates so you can imagine home many times we had to stop.

The girls definitely enjoyed their second ride on the trolley, but they stated that next time they would like to ride the "Blue one" aka the Coaster. We will have to plan a ride on the Coaster this summer!

summer fun- delay

I get to be a stay-at-home mom three month out of the year and that is truly what we having been doing this first week of summer -staying at home. My poor babies have been under the weather with some sort of stomach flu for the past few days. Needless to say I have been nurse mommy as well as a mom who has done a lot of laundry and disinfecting. Tony and I were scared with this bout of sickness because our girls have never thrown up in their lives (we have been lucky). It broke my heart in two when I had to hold my babies while they got sick and there was nothing I could do. But I was very grateful that I was able to stay at home with them and be their comfort.

The good news is we are seeing the light, the girls are feeling better, though I am still afraid to veer too far from the BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast) diet anytime soon.

Love you Angels... you have been such troopers!

Happy Daddy's Day!

First I must say that Happy Father's Day to my dad! I hope you had a wonderful day, I missed you! Thanks for being the best Dad ever!

The girls have the best dad too, so they wanted to be sure he knew how much they loved him. The girls and I spent Saturday afternoon making a daddy a special desert for Father's day!

Of course they had to sample the topping just to be sure it tasted okay!

The girls also made their daddy this great poster! We hung it on the door for daddy to see it first thing in the morning. "Happy daddy's Day" was their mantra all day, it was so cute.

Daddy's girls took him to breakfast to his favorite doughnut shop! I'll say the girls enjoyed it too!

daddy doing what he does best to make Lola laugh!

but a parents job never stops... Ellie started to get really sick in the evening and all she wanted was cuddles.

In between taking care of sickie, we did manage to celebrate a little bit with a BBQ and some presents... Tony's girls gave him an IPad for Father's Day! He was very spoiled indeed but deserving of it all.

Thanks sweetie for being such a great dad to our little girls!

New wardrobe addition!

The girls got a new and exciting addition to their wardrobe... big girl panties. I am not sure Tony and I were ready to start the potty training endeavor this soon into the summer, but the girls practically started potty training themselves, so we couldn't deprive them any longer. For about the past week or two, anytime we are at home and the girls feel the urge to pee they run into the bathroom and go potty on their little chairs. Needless to say they have been spending most of the time at home naked, so we felt it was the next step to get them some big girl panties. Yesterday Tony took them to Target and the girls picked out Yo Gabba Gabba panties.

We had fully intended to do the three day potty training method (which we still might do) where you stay home, hunker down, and focus on potty training only. For now we are just encouraging and reinforcing it when we are at home and we will see how it goes. For now it has been great. Today the girls were in their panties all evening and neither of them had accident both had went pee twice on their own in the potty.

I do have some adorable pictures of the girls in their new big girl panties, but since this is the Internet... I will take the conservative side and not post them, but trust me they look so cute!

We will keep you posted on this new endeavor!

Successful Surgery!

I was able to check off one of the items on my summer to do list. I had my sinus surgery yesterday and it went very well. I was a bit tired last night due to the Anestassia, but the doc said everything went great and I should be feeling some relief soon. The best part of the day was how the girls greeted me when they came back from a day of fun with Kathleen. Thank you Kathleen for taking the girls for the day so I could rest up!

Both Lola and Ellie walked in and just stared at me as could be expected, I did have gauze taped under my nose to catch any drainage. They didn't know what to think of their mom. They knew I was going to the doctors to get my nose fixed so they weren't all that surprised- all morning yesterday Ellie and Lola both kept saying "Mommy go to doctor, get nose fixed" so cute. Anyway, they walked in and just stared at me so curious and Ellie said "Mommy, take your nose off" So I took the gauze off and then Ellie put her hand on my chin and said "Chin up, I wanna see" Lola was just happy to see me and gave my nose some kisses and said"Mommy, feel better"

By tomorrow I will be in full on summer mode!

Yesterday started our summer!

Yesterday was my last day of work before my 11 week summer break... I am ecstatic and very excited about this summer. Since it was my last day of work and it was just a teacher work day -no students to teach- the girls got to come to work with mommy. They loved it, as I finished cleaning my classroom and tied up some lose ends the girls took full advantage of the super size white board, my teacher snack stash, the two playgrounds, and of course all the fun sensory stuff in the therapy rooms. It was fun to have them at work with me, it really felt like a kick off to summer.

Cheers to Summer 2011!

The Mountians...

We headed up to the mountains last weekend with our friends Kathleen, Kevin and their daughter Bailey. It was a fun and relaxing weekend. All three of the girls had a blast.

We spent much of the weekend pushing the girls on the tree swings!

Cabin time...the girls were on the hunt for a perfect pine cone
Found it!

We went on a hike to around Lake Gregory, it was a beautiful hike with a creek at the end where the girls spent many minutes throwing rocks back into the creek.

I think most of the rocks on the creek side made it back in due to the girls hard efforts!

mellow cabin time...nothing like story time!

and of course a weekend at the cabin wouldn't be complete without some snacks and a movie, Toy Story 3 was the feature film!

The mommas and their little toddlers! It was great to get together!

More play time...Here is Ellie in her fancy glasses... Melissa captured this sweet photo of Lola, Pure Happiness on her face.
