moms and their kids

Our kiddos love to hang out together...
...and their mommies like to hang out too! As all of you moms know kid free time together with some girlfriends is far and few between, but somehow we managed to squeeze in some time to take advantage of restaurants week at Mister A's
Amy, Maureen, Stacie, Leslie, Kathleen, and Amy.

Just had to do it...this came up on my computer screen saver...I couldn't help but share. I can't get over how small Ellie looks to be doing what she doing. I guess you're never too young to take adventures with your daddy!

Fun at Preschool!

Every once in a while I will get a nice surprise when I check my email on  my lunch break at work. The preschool director is so thoughtful and takes pictures of the students engaged in their preschool activities and then sends them out to the parents. I love that! It makes my day to see and email from her with pictures of Lola and Ellie having fun and participating in all things preschool!  Here the girls are finger painting while learning about the color red, socializing with new friends while climbing on the rope ladder in the shark tank, learning new songs and movements with the music teacher, and getting much needed rest listening to a pre-nap story read by a parent volunteer. These pictures make me want to go back to preschool!

It takes a village

We all know that it takes a village to raise kids and Tony and I have been blessed with a huge village full of fantastic people who love our girls! One village member I have never blogged  about is Yvette, better known to us and the girls as TT. She has watched the girls three days a week since they were   seven months old. The girls absolutely love TT as well as the other kids TT takes care of. It was a surprise to me how big of a bond these girls would make with their day care community. Because of preschool the girls only go to TT's house once a week now and they really look forward to going. TT has really provided are girls with a safe, stimulating, and fun place to spend the day while Mommy and Daddy have to work. They do crafts together, bake together, and have PJ parties every one in awhile with all the day care kids. We Love TT!

3 going on 30...

Right now, it is two sisters enjoying some conversation, drinking juice and rocking their favorite dolls while wearing nothing but Hello Kitty and Little Mermaid panties.

Before we know it, it will be two sisters enjoying some conversation while drinking a glass of wine, rocking their own children, and wearing the latest trends.

There must be few great loves, greater than the one between twins.
How lucky they are to have each other.

2nd annual Mezzadri Coronado trip

We capped off our summer with a trip to Coronado beach for the weekend. We stayed at the newly remodeled Navy Lodge with Tony's family. Emma, Uncle Drew, Auntie Sara, and the four of us had a fantastic time hanging on the beach, swimming, playing in the grass, and relaxing
The new rooms were a nice surprise, this was our view from the balcony of our room,
the never ending beach shadowed by the silhouette of Point Loma.

We also had a view of the pool and playground- much to the kid liking!

This was the view from our bed, we haven't enjoyed a beach view from our bed since our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
Poolside fun... nothing like dunking your Uncle under water.

Evenings at the beach are priceless!
There is something about the lighting and the atmesphere that brings out the best in you!

...these birds don't stand a chance...

The pool closed at five each day which meant the huge grass courtyard was open for KIDtastic fun!

Lola is anxiously awaiting another day of fun at the beach!
The girls were occupied with the task of picking up all the shells in their path.
We came home with a lot of shells but only a total of three sand dollars this time around.

Ellie also took it upon herself to save our beach snacks from the forever hungry seagulls.
So I haven't boogie boarded since the girls were in my have I missed it! Drew and I headed out to catch some waves and had a blast. Sarah joined us too, she had never boogie boarded before and she did great!

Vacation is definitely good for more than having fun, it's great for nap taking too!
I got to snag a few minutes of shut eye while these beauties were sleeping too!

Celia, a family friend who lives on Coronado, joined us the last evening for dinner!
BBQ tri-tip on a beach grill- nothing like it!

Auntie Sara, Uncle Drew, Daddy, Mommy, Lola, Ellie, and Emma
Before we headed on home we had to take advantage of the lift they had poolside. Tony's opportunities to swim are far and few between, so when the opportunity presents itself it's hard to pass it up. The girls didn't know what to think about their daddy swimming but Ellie was really excited  and jumped right in practically dunking Tony all together.
Lola loving on her DD!

It was a great trip, full of great memories and we can't wait to do it again next year!
