taste of longer evenings

...well a tad longer anyway, this group isn't looking forward to spring at all, can't you tell!

Sweet, calm, easy, evenings filled with girls in dresses, riding bikes, playing with sidewalk chalk, and sharing giggles. These are the little things, the simple moments that stay imprinted on your heart. I know one day I will look back and think about these simple evenings, reflecting on how they are among some of my favorite memories.

4 year check up!

So Lola and Ellie had their 4 year old check up today! Man was it a doozie... It started out great up until the shots... Warning four year old shots suck! Our girls normally do fine for shots, but these were a different ball game all together. Poor Babies. But overall we did get a clean bill of health and development. Here are their updates stats.

Ellie
weight: 32lbs (45th percentile)
height: 39.25 inches (25th percentile)
BMI: 14.5 (25th percentile)
hearing: passed
vision: 20/40 (hopefully this score was a measure of her ability to take the vision test and not her actual vision, in any case we are going to follow up with a pediatric ophthalmologist to rule that out, especially since I was practically blind until I had laser surgery 12 years ago)

Lola:
weight: 37lbs (60th percentile)
height: 40.75 inches (75th percentile)
BMI: 15.5 (50th percentile)
hearing: passed
vision: 20/20

After a combined total of eight shots I thought these little ladies could use some ice cream.
After all, a spoonful of sugar is the best medicine right?

It is surely not taken for granted that we have healthy children who are thriving.
We are so blessed and thank God every day. It never fails that in anticipation for these annual check ups, I can't help but have a heavy heart for all the parents that are not as lucky and do not get a clean bill of health for the children.

Sunday, February 17th

The girls woke up on their birthday morning to a house full of streamers and balloons! I decorated the house like this last year and you bet the girls were expecting the same thing this year. They were so excited that morning. Lola came running in to our bedroom screaming in excitement practically yanking me out of bed to show me the decorations. It is really cute how the simplest of thigs make these little girls so happy.

The girls had just a few present to open this day. First, Tony and I made the girls a Lego table with a drawer and bin underneath and then they had many presents to open from their friends and family who attended their birthday party the day before.  They were spoiled!

We kept it simple and celebrated their actual birthday dinner at Oggis restaurant (after finding out that Corvette diner had an hour wait). It turned out perfect and the girls were happy... simple food topped off with ice cream sundaes... can't beat that!

These ladies haven't stopped using the Lego table since they we gave it to them! It has been a hit...  they are in the process of making their own city; complete with a princess castle, elaborate cars with garages, a flower garden, Star Wars police, and towers.

A Very Colorful 4th Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated Lola and Ellie's 4th birthday in a very colorful way. The girls were pretty specific about how they wanted to celebrate their birthday this year. They stated a few months back they wanted to have their birthday party at Liberty Station Park with a jumpy. Simple enough. Their wish was granted and man were they happy!

Here are the happy birthday girls all smiles awaiting their party.

The preparations and the decorations.
The "theme" of the party was COLOR, it was a little lost in the mix of the park and jumpy, but none the less still fun!

Jumpy, Jumpy, and more Jumpy FUN!

Some kiddos did manage to take a break from the jumpy every one in a while.

Lots of Friends and Family helped us Celebrate!

Cake Time!
It was a bit too breezy for candles...so we winged it!

It was such a FUN day, with FANTASTIC people, celebrating two FABULOUS ladies!

These kiddos were not ready to stop the party...even clean up was fun!
