Memorial Day Weekend...

We took advantage of this long weekend...
and kicked of the summer season with some fun times and a lot of relaxing!
I finally got my girl friends and their kiddos together for a morning paddle. It was great that we all were able to make it and the kids enjoyed the experience too. This is the first of many mornings on the water for this crew, one of which has already ordered her own board!

Making sno-cones with the classic Snoopy Sno-cone maker.
I remember these from my childhood. The girls are getting their muscles ready to shave some ice.

On Memorial Day we decided to take the girls on the trolley to spend the day down town, observing the holiday by visiting memorials and sights that were set up along the San Diego harbor.
It was a great day!

Summer 2013 here we come!

crazy about cooking

Lola and Ellie love to help me in the kitchen. I used to have to create little jobs for them to do, so they could feel helpful and I could still get dinner on the table at a decent time. Now since they have had quite a bit of practice and are a little bit older, they can really help me. They love being a part of the kitchen and creating their own food. Their absolute favorite thing to bake is banana bread with chocolate chips. They have it down to a science now all I have to do is put it in the oven for them.
1) Baking Desert Doughnuts

2) Helping mom make Meat Ball Soup

3) Making their famous Banana Bread (Paleo Style)
