Good Bye Haddie

Towards the end of Haddie's stay she started to leave little treats for the girls. One of which was a little pack of Elf size books for the girls. Included on the four book collections was "Chicken Soup with Rice" their favorite book by Maurice Sandak.

It was really cute how much Lola and Ellie loved reading a let from Haddie, they were amazed that she writes in all CAPS!

As a result of these treats the girls wrote Haddie some thank you letters as well as made her gifts.

Lola made Haddie a purse and Ellie made Haddie an outfit!
They wrapped them up and left them out for Haddie to get on Christmas Eve.

Haddie is wearing the purse Lola made for her!
On Christmas Eve Haddie left the girls a note, saying how much she will miss them and that she left them a "stuffy" that looks just like her so they could think of her all year long. She also stocked up on "Magic" the night before so Lola and Ellie would be able to give her one big hug!

The girls were absolutely nervous to give Haddie a hug,
but eventually they did and were so happy!

Until next year, Haddie!

Sissy's Gift

Like the past few years, the girls have got each other a Christmas gift. This year was a bit different as Lola and Ellie used their very own money! They each picked out such sweet things and were so excited to give them to each other. First, they had to wrap them up and put them under the tree. The sweetest thing is that these always end up being the first presented the girls unwrap on Christmas morning.

Ellie got Lola these three mini-stuffed animals from Winnie the Pooh.

Lola got Ellie skated for her Build-a-Bear!

I love how much they love each other. It melts my heart.

Merry Christmas! Christmas Card - 2015

It has been a whirlwind of a year… which only made us stronger and ever more grateful for health, family, and our simple life!

Lola and Ellie are now in the first grade; Ellie is becoming quite the writer and we have discovered that Lola loves math. They both continue to love everything about the ocean and even got their first taste of the tropical warm water when we took a family trip to Hawaii last summer.  This year Lola and Ellie had many firsts; their First Holy Communion, their first slumber party, and their first go at team sports – softball.  Stacie is still teaching and Tony continues to run his real estate business from home.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead and wish you and your family a joyous holiday season and a new year full of beautiful memories.

With Love, Tony, Stacie, Lola & Ellie

getting into the spirit of the season

The Boat Parade of Lights in the San Diego Harbor is always one of my very favorite Christmas traditions. It was extra special this year, as last year Tony was unable to go with us (it was the night he was put on bed rest for what turned out to be a 5 month stint). It was just the four of us on this cold, winter night and it felt like CHRISTMAS!
a little play and picnic before the parade

Let the Parade begin!

Walking Garrison with friends!
Renee hosted Hot Coco and treating before walking up the hill to view the lights.
{Ellie, Lola, Ella)

Ice Skating has been one of the funnest events for the girls this season. Emma got the girls a season pass for the girls and she and Tony would take the girls every Thursday (minimum days at school). They have really gotten to be pretty good skaters!

A Christmas stroll in Ocean Beach to see the tree and sand castles.

Cookie making with friends. This was a fantastic day! WE showed up in our Jammies with a box of donuts and hung out until the afternoon letting the kids play while we drank coffee and chatted. My kind of Christmas play date!

I love  Christmas Breaks... they simply yield daytime naps.
The girls and I each grabbed our own book and sat on the couch to read, it didn't last long as all three of us fell fast asleep!
The breaks also give us all time to just be kids...

The girls are BEYOND excited this time of year!!!
