Christmas Eve -2015

Our Christmas Eve was filled with excitement, fun, and never ending anticipation!
I believe Lola and Ellie look forward to Christmas Eve almost as much as Christmas morning.
Like always, we headed to Coronado to ice skate at The Hotel Del then home for Candlelight Mass and dinner.

A little beach play before skating.

"The Sandman" was making this castle on the beach, it was amazing!

 Let the skating begin!

My Lola was obsessed with tracking Santa via Norad all day long.
She must have left the ice 10 times just to check where he was.

We spent quite a bit of time walking around the hotel, taking in the shops and the decorations,
it was so nice to take our time and just enjoy.

 A little photo before Church

Candlelight Mass... this mass is one of my very favorites- this, like nothing else,
makes the spirit of Christmas alive in your heart.

Home for apps and dinner before the Man in Red comes down the Chimney.
Uncle Drew joined us for dinner this year. It just so happens that the Chargers were playing on Christmas Eve this year... but didn't quite pull out the win.
One more check on Norad- to realize that Santa was not too far away...
time to set out the snacks and treats for Santa and his reindeer

Tony read "Twas the night before Christmas" to the girls before they were off to bed!

Since last year the girls woke up before 5:00 am, we decided to set some ground rules this year. We put this clock in the girls' room and explained that they were not allowed to get out of bed until 6:30 am or after- we provided a visual so there would be no excuses!
Good night sweet girls, dream magical Christmas dreams.

The girls shared with us their Christmas Eve dreams. It was so sweet to listen to them, it was as if I was listening to myself as a child. They explained how they dreamed of Christmas morning and the gifts they opened. Ellie said one dream she had she only ended up with one gift.

I love living this holiday through the eyes of a child!
