Nana Denney

Nana Denney is Tony's maternal grandmother.  Last week she went to be with our Lord.  I had the privilege of meeting her a few years back in her home town of Moorefield, West Virgina. Lola and Ellie never got to meet Nana Denney in person, but I am sure they feel as if they know her simply  by listening to all the stories Tony would and still shares.  I know they were loved by her and they would have loved meeting her.

Words from Tony: I loved imitating her and when I did it around her she would give such a hearty laugh. I loved having her around, she would always cook some southern fried chicken (even though she didn't like chicken). She would get so mad at me when I cut my hair  short because she loved my thick wavy locks. She was so proud that she passed that onto me! We truly enjoyed each others' company and I will miss her!

Rest in peace Nana, you were loved!

Spring Break 2016

Spring Break was filled with a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. We spent the majority of the spring break fixing up the condo, but we finished the break with a BANG!

Softball girls... we played a lot of catch over spring break!

Park fun!

It's the simple things that make them smile!
We hang out with these cuties on break... Bryce, Ellie, Lola, Solanna
The girls learned how to paint walls!

We surprised the girls with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge! They had an AMAZING time. I mean what seven-year-old wouldn't? This place had everything and anything to do with water. It was really fun to ride the water slides with the girls. To genuinely laugh and witness their ear to ear smiles is such pleasure! Though I will have to admit a few hours into the second day, Tony and I needed a bit of a break from the noise and chlorine air. The girls found an older friend and Tony and I found a seat in the sun, a bar, and the outside pool! Win-Win.

And that is a wrap... the count down to summer begins!

March Happenings

A little late, but better late than never...
March was a month filled with lots of visitors and fun!

After  dinner at Nattie's it was a perfect night for a stroll on the OB pier.
{Liam and Ellie hand in hand}

It turns out that the waves were incredible this night - they were so fun to watch. Well yours truly got completely soaked by a perfectly timed wave that decided to come over the pier where only I was standing.

My Brother and his family came down to San Diego for a gymnastic meet. It was great to have cousin time at Grandma and Poppi's house while also seeing Athena perform.
Such simple, kid fun ... chalk drawing !

Athena at her meet.

Athena's cheering squad.

Some of us girls headed out on the town for dinner, drinks, and the Book of Mormon.
It was a super fun evening!

My mom turned ... well... let's just say she had a birthday!

My friend Matt from High School came to town- so we headed out downtown for dinner.
It happen to be his birthday so we celebrated in the perfect way... Ghirardelli
Ellie and Matt, her new BFF

The girls have been begging to go to Starbucks and read "like adults" ... such big girls!

Love Them!

We fit in some fun with Ella... swimming and a little hot chocolate.

Lola is all about "playing school" these days... and she's good at it!!
