Independence Day 2016

Our Independence Day started off at the beach ... bright and early. My niece was itching to go surfing again, so knowing it was fourth of July we hit the sand early to beat join the crowds.
Athena is not happy at all!
Matt and I had to help suit her up!
... thoughtful Lola ...
 The surf session begins.

After the surf we hit up Newport Avenue for breakfast and a little shopping!

The evening celebrations were at my parents house in Ramona.

 Time to Sparkle and celebrate!

My parents house is in a killer location. We were able to sit around the fire pit in their back yard and watch the fireworks from there. It was a grand show!

 What a great day!

My bro's visit

My Brother Matt, SIL Maureen and nieces Athena and Haven cane for a summer visit. It is always so great when they come, the girls had a fabulous time playing with their cousins and I got to hang out with My Bro and SIL!

The first day together, the girls got manicures before swimming and doing dinner at our place.

The next day we headed to La Jolla Shores for a day of surfing, boogie boarding, and sand mold making.
Grandma,Ellie, and Lola
Haven and the girls digging for China!
Athena wanted nothing more than to surf. So we she headed out on my board to catch some rides. Ellie of course was not going to let her surf all on her own.

We made paris of plaster sand mold which turned out great this time.
We didn't leave La Jolla without a walk up the strip for a little shopping and ice cream.
We all spent a lot of time around my parents bonfire... S'mores anyone?

On July 3rd we spent the day in Julian, which was very patriotic!

Bocce Ball tournaments lasted all weekend!!! I love that game.
We spent 4th of July with My Bro and his family too... separate post all together.
