Big Bear

Our summer, to say the least, was a bit busy with moving. So going into the move, we quickly planned a short trip to Big Bear to ensure that our family got away to spend the time together in the midst of all the chaos.

Our "Cozy Creepy Cabin" in the woods.

We got there just in time for Tony to catch the first pre-season Chargers game!
Tony is sharing his love for the game with his little girl.

The view! Mountain Clean Air!  Refreshing !

We had a lake side playground walking distance form the cabin. All smiles from this one!

PIZZA night at the cabin!! It was heart pizza night.

 Vacation mornings are always simple.
Tony is telling tall tales to these little girls durning morning snuggles.

Kayaking adventures on the lake.
There was a lot of fun going on and not much paddling from these two little ladies.
That was fine on my part - I got a killer arm work out!

After some time on the lake the girls begged Tony to take them fishing! he showed them the ropes and then they waited... and waited. No fish were caught, but hey there was a whole container of worms to play with!

Back at the cabin there were some worm races going on... and more waiting!

Down town Big Bear!
Alpine Slide... SO fun! I rode it too!

 Down Time at the cabin!

That's a wrap... Ellie left this note in the cabin journal.
I am so glad we made this little trip. It was much needed and we all had a little fun!

New Home, New Beginnings

Saying good bye to the condo... the place Tony and I turned into a home. We moved into our City Scene condo together the day after we got married. We built our foundation together in that space. We built beautiful friendships with the neighbors. We had adventures and went through some pretty tough stuff in that home. Most important of all we brought out babies home to that condo. We experienced all of their firsts in that space. We built our family in-between those walls- it is no wonder why this move was very bitter sweet. I will not lie, I along with Lola and Ellie sobbed as we walked away from our home on Camino Degrazia for the last time. In reflection we are truly blessed to feel that much emotion, because if it wasn't for the memories we lived in between those walls, the transition would not have been so bitter sweet.

After the move out was complete, we went back to the condo to finalize a few things, ate takeout in the vacant space while reminiscing about it all. It was a special evening and a great way to move forward with gratitude!

Our venture to buy a house for our family started many years ago. I believe Tony and I knew deep down that it was all going to work out. We knew God had a plan for our next home together as a family, regretfully I just wish our faith would have been stronger then our anxiety in the moments leading up to and throughout the home purchase. Reflecting on all of things that lined up to take make our new home ours, we know it worked out exactly how it was suppose to be.  We worked pretty hard to get here, but at the same time are so very humbled and grateful for this blessing and cannot wait to see how our new home will be a blessing to us and others.

We spent some time (with lots and lots of help- most who are not pictured) making the space a bit more personal. We painted, replaced some carpet, got some new furniture, and re-did the bathroom to make it work for Tony. There is still quite a bit we want to do, but in due time. Mark painted and helped move, Emma helped clean and paint, my mom helped unpack and line cabinets, Uncle Drew and Chris were like professional movers, my dad got to work on his to-do list, Mike installed a much needed ceiling fan in the girls room, Candice and Keith moved the random stuff,  and our friend Kevin did the bathroom remodel... it took a village.

My brother Mark flew down to help out!
Lola and Ellie helped paint in-between swim sessions.

I had to post these pictures because the moving of the cats is something the girls were so looking forward to and something I will never forget. Needless to say, they make in to our new home too!

Our first night in our new home happened to be Tony and my 10th wedding anniversary... can't quite think of a better way to celebrate ten years. We spent the evening watching the sun set from our back yard, swimming with the girls, and toasting to new beginnings!

Cheers to our next home adventure!
